Ghost Chair
2024
Cotton, silicone, foam, mahogany wood, metal.

As part of the "Les Aliénés du Mobilier National" initiative, Wendy Andreu reinterprets a 20th-century Empire-style gondola chair using a technique called "Regen," which she has refined since 2014.

The chair acts as a mold, with added protrusions to enhance its shape. The rope forms organic curves and covers the chair's surface, creating an envelope that can be reversed and used as a cover.

The original colors and contours of the chair are retained, giving it a new contemporary perspective. The chair is hidden under the rope, but the presence of its contours reveals it, creating an intriguing interaction between the visible and the invisible.
